A house built on a former garage site in North London, shaped by tight constraints including a nearby railway and planning limitations. The design explores a quiet spatial atmosphere where light and shadow blur the boundaries of the interior.

The two-storey concrete structure follows the profile of the former garage roof at ground level, with living spaces and a small sunken courtyard below. Clad in weathered chestnut and finished internally with an almost unpainted material palette, the house speaks softly through a restrained use of materials. As an inward-looking urban retreat, its volumes expand and contract with changing light, forming a contemplative void within the city.
